Easy on the Back Bag Pattern
This is a great bag for travel and includes many pockets. On each lower outside panel is one slot, one zipper and small slot pocket for just about anything. At the upper edge of each side is another pocket. On the outside gusset is a water bottle pocket. Outside pockets can be adapted to inside if you like. On the inside gusset is a pocket for a small umbrella. The bag pattern includes two sizes: Large 20" x 13" x 5", Small 16" x 11" x 5".
Fabric required:
- Small Bag - 1 3/4 yd. of 45" material
- Large Bag - 2 1/8 yd. of 45" material or 1 1/2" of 60" material
- Multiple Fabrics (used for bag)
- Gusset - 1/4 yd. (not fat quarter)
- Body - 2/3 yd.
- 5-6 fat quarters for different pockets
- Inside fabric - 1 1/2 yd. For inside fabric use heavy weight fabric to give your bag shape. Mid weight upholstery works well.
- Heavy weight fusible interfacing - 3 yds.
- Zippers - small bag - 1- 16" nylon and 2 -12" nylon zippers
- Large bag - 1 - 18" nylon zipper 2 -14" nylon zippers
- Thread to match fabric
- 2 1" D rings or 1 1/2" or 2" 3-Bar slides
- 1 1/2 yd. 2" wide webbing for straps
- 12" velcro or 2 -14" nylon zippers
