Flap Happy is an easy to make tote bag and pillow with complete instructions for foundation pieces, quilting, and construction.  Finished size for the tote bag is 14" x 16" x 6" and the pillow is 16" x 26".  This is a great beginners project!

Materials needed:

• TOTE BAG
• 3/4 yd purple (bag back)
• 3/8 yd each of blue, green, red, orange, black and white
• 1/4 yd each of yellow and pink
• 3/4 yd for lining (f you use white, you'll need 1 yd total)
• FOUNDATION: 3/8 yd lightweight light colored cotton fabric such as muslin (4- 5 1/2" squares and 2 - 6 1/2" x 18" panels, if using scraps) OR 4 sheets of lightweight 8 1/2" x 11" paper.
• Batting: 1 yd of 60-90" wide 100% cotton needlepunched batting, such as as "Warm & Natural
• PILLOW:
• 1/2 yd red
• 1/4 yd each of blue, green, purple, and orange
• 1.8 yd each of yellow, pink, black, and white
• SAME FOUNDATION AS TOTE BAG
• Batting - 5/8 yd of 60-90" wide 100% cotton needlepunched batting, such as Warm & Natural OR 2 - 17" x 26" pieces (after shrinking)
• Backing fabric - 1 1/8" yd 45" wide fabric or 2 - 17" x 26" pieces of fabric (won't show)
• Pillow form: 1 - 16" x 16"
