The Newport tote bag pattern has a unique handle and loop design that can convert the bag to either a handbag with a shoulder strap, a backpack, or a convenient "across the chest" handle! Finished size is 18" w x 13 1/2" h. The rectangular bottom is 6" x 12".
Materials Needed:
- FABRIC: Bag front, back and handle - 2/3 yd (same for directional print)
- Bottom of bag and loops - 1/2 yd (2/3 yd for directional print)
- Outside and inside pockets - 1 fat quarter
- Bag lining - 2/3 yd
- Craft fleece 3/4 yd
- Directional fabric - Don't use fabric that has only one direction (such as a house) for the bottom of the bag because it will srap around the bottom and read upside down. Stipes, however, work great!
