This pieced patchwork purse pattern is made from squares of coordinating cotton fabric or from your old denim jeans! Finished size is 14" x 14" and 16" x 16" (excluding the handles).
Materials Needed:
- SMALL COTTON VERSION: 1/4 yd each of 5 different coordinating fabrics for the squares
- 3/4 yd of a different coordinating fabric for lining
- Two 18" x 24" pieces cotton batting
- Two 18" long leather sew-on handles
- Eight 7/8" diameter buttons (usually included with the leather handles)
- LARGE DENIM VERSION - One or two pairs of gently used denim jeans (enough to cut 20 - 6 1/2" squares)
- 1 yd of a coordinating fabric for lining and interior pockets
- Two 24" x 30" pieces cotton batting
- Two 18" long leather sew-on handles
- Four extra large (7/16") eyelets and eyelet tool
- 4 yds of leather or suede lace
- Optional: Eight assorted wooden beads
